WANTED: A HOMESTEAD ‘HAND’. SKILLED AND LABOR TASKS HOMESTEAD HAND: Looking for an extra hand or a ‘handyperson’ to help with various tasks around a rural property. From a little road ditching, moving, storing and organizing tools and materials. Moving brush. Cable to re-hang for suspended PVC pipe, wattle to install, etc. (Most of the above are just hours here or there). Fencing (many repairs), landscaping, simple carpentry, PVC – poly pipe repair experience and/or mechanical skills / experience would be great! A couple special jobs are installing a new water heater tank (copper pipe to sweat, etc.) and building a small concrete form in a ditch to place a concrete valve box on, and run pipes from it…. Etc. Need to be in Humboldt or Mendocino. Solid local references are a MUST. Short-term on-site housing possible. Commuting preferred. Good vehicle (& tires) that can navigate country roads is essential. You must be reliable, communicate well, be friendly, a team player, be able to take and follow directions. Expect a complete background check. Hours / days are a little flexible (dry days most important to work). Rate: $20 per hour. Maybe a 2-3 weeks of work. (Could be more / ongoing if you have landscaping skills/ interests). Good, chill, no drama work environment. Property owner is friendly and positive. Property is in the hills near Miranda, 25 minutes off 101, 7 miles on paved county road, plus 3 miles on gravel roads, behind a locked gate. Please REPLY BY EMAIL first.
