MARBLEHEAD, MA — North Shore seniors are urged not to provide credit card numbers or financial information on unsolicited calls from someone claiming they can "register" you for a coronavirus vaccine. Marblehead police said that other North Shore communities are reporting the scam in which seniors are targeted with calls claiming that they can be "registered" for a vaccine if they provide some type of a deposit. Police said no credit card number or payment will be required to receive an appointment for a vaccine. While there has been widespread frustration on getting appointments for the vaccine in the two days since the state opened up registration to all those 75 and older. Gov. Charlie Baker said on Thursday the state is planning to create a state call center for those who are having trouble registering for an appointment or do not have computer access.
