Sweet, older dog looking for a new home

Description

Ginger is a sweet, mellow pit bull mix, who is 7 years old. She was surrendered to the Animal Shelter because she didn't get along with cats and other dogs. However, at the Shelter, she has been out to several playgroups with other dogs and has done well with other gentle dogs. Ginger is not playful with other dogs, but she should be able to coexist with another mellow dog in her next home that will give her plenty of space. Ginger will make an excellent low energy companion for her person and prefers quietly hanging out at your side. This sweet girl knows how to sit on command and loves attention from people. She will likely do best in a home she can retire in that is quiet and has no cats or young children to make her uncomfortable, since she once nipped at a young child, who made her uncomfortable in her previous home. At 75 pounds, Ginger could lose a few, so she would benefit from a healthy diet and regular exercise. Her next owner should also be strong enough to handle her when she occasionally pulls on her leash. Ginger must meet other dogs in the home prior to adoption. If you can provide Ginger what she needs and give her a loving home, please call Michelle at . Her adoption fee has already been prepaid by a generous donor, so the only cost to adopt is $25 for an annual dog license, if you live in Jackson County!
