Blue Hills Ski Area Closes For Inspection After Boy Falls

CANTON, MA — Blue Hills Ski Area closed to permit an inspection of its chair lift on Saturday, less than a week after a young boy fell from it and landed in the hospital. On Monday, a 7 year old fell 35-feet from the Blue Hills Ski lift. Although he was expected be OK, he was taken by a med flight to Boston Children's Hospital. Shortly after the ski area said in a statement there was nothing to suggest there were any mechanical issues that caused or contributed to the fall. The ski area said on Facebook Saturday, they were "excited to reopen immediately upon completion of that [state] inspection process."
