Press release from the City of Cambridge: January 28, 2021 Cambridge Police Daily Log: January 27th, 2021 Type # Date & Time Info 01/27/202110:44 INCIDENT 21000588 UTTER FALSE CHECK C267 S5 RINDGE AVE A financial institution sustained a loss of funds due to fraudulent check activity involving a Cambridge resident. 01/27/202112:29 INCIDENT 21000590 NEGLIGENT OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE C90 S24 MAIN ST The Cambridge Police documented a motor vehicle crash at the intersection on Main Street and Galileo Galilei Way. As a result of a crash investigation, a Boston resident was issued an application for criminal complaint. 01/27/202114:05 INCIDENT 21000591 DEFACE PROPERTY C266 S126 RINDGE AVE A resident of Rindge Avenue called to report that the foundation of her residence was sprayed with paint. She believed this occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. There are no suspects identified at this time. 01/27/202114:47 INCIDENT 21000595 A&B C265 S13A MASSACHUSETTS AVE Cambridge Police responded to the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue for a report of a past assault. 01/27/202115:00 INCIDENT 21000593 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE C90 S24 BROADWAY Cambridge Police responded to Broadway in order to document a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash with property damage. 01/27/202115:25 INCIDENT 21000594 FALSE/SILENT 911 CALL C269 S14B MASSACHUSETTS AVE Cambridge Police received several 911 calls from the same individual. 01/27/202115:31 INCIDENT 21000592 LARCENY OVER $1200 C266 S30 THIRD ST A resident came into 125 Sixth Street to report a jewelry box stolen during her move from Cambridge to Charlestown on January 5. The reporting person stated she had placed her belonging inside a taxi-cab. She later found out her jewelry box was missing. Reporting person reached out to hackney office in Boston to no avail. 01/27/202115:59 INCIDENT 21000596 LARCENY FROM BUILDING C266 S20 LANDSDOWNE ST Cambridge Police received a phone call from an employee of a business on Landsdowne Street regarding a larceny. The larceny occurred on January 15, 2021 at approximately 6 p.m. 01/27/202117:32 INCIDENT 21000600 ASSAULT W/DANGEROUS WEAPON C265 S15B CHURCHILL AVE Cambridge Police responded to Massachusetts Avenue at Churchill Avenue on a report of a male that had been punched in the nose and sprayed in the face with an unknown substance. The male was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. A suspect was located in the area and identified. 01/27/202117:56 INCIDENT 21000601 LARCENY FROM BUILDING C266 S20 JACKSON PL Cambridge Public Safety responded to a Jackson Place apartment building on a report of an inside odor of gas. While investigating, evidence from possible larcenies were observed in plain view and documented. 01/27/202119:27 INCIDENT 21000602 LARCENY UNDER $1200 C266 S30(1) ALEWIFE BROOK PKWY Cambridge Police received a phone call from a resident of Parker Street reporting a past larceny. The larceny occurred in a parking lot on Alewife Brook Parkway on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at approximately 4:40 a.m. 01/27/202119:28 INCIDENT 21000603 B&E MV / BOAT NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY C266 S16 CONCORD AVE A Cambridge resident called the COVID-19 Teleserve to report a past break and entering to her vehicle. 01/27/202121:31 INCIDENT 21000604 ASSAULT W/DANGEROUS WEAPON C265 S15B CENTRAL SQ Cambridge Police responded to the area of Carl Baron Plaza for a report of a female brandishing a needle in a threatening manner towards passerbys and making racial slurs.
