TAMPA, FL — Those hoping to score free tickets to the NFL Super Bowl Experience in Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park in downtown Tampa are out of luck. All the passes have been snapped up. But those lucky enough to grab one of the coveted passes will have to be sure to meet all coronavirus protocols, even while outdoors. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor has mandated face masks outdoors at all Super Bowl event and entertainment venues. See: Tampa Mayor Mandates Wearing Masks Outdoor At Super Bowl Events The NFL Experience football theme park opened Friday with Bucs legend Derrick Brooks ushering the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Julian B. Lane Park where it will be on display for photos. The NFL Experience continues through Feb. 6 but will be closed Feb. 1 and 2. "Our 40-yard dash is behind me. You can see. You can run against Saquon Barkley or Derrick Henry in the 40-yard dash. We have a gallery displaying all 54 Super Bowl rings, Hall of Fame busts from Canton and our replica locker room display as it appears on game day," said Nicki Ewell, NFL director of events. Visitors will be able to take photos with the trophy, virtually meet and greet NFL players and football legends, try kicking a field goal, vertical jump on LED screens and shop for NFL merchandise at two stores. "Whether it's being able to kick, or punt, or pass, seeing the Lombardi trophy, or doing virtual meet and greets, there will be something for everybody," Tampa Bay Sports Commission director and CEO of the Super Bowl LV Host Committee Rob Higgins said. "It's like a theme park for football fans. You can come down and create memories that will last a lifetime with your family." There will be other entertainment, activities and selfie spots stretching about three miles from the Armature Works in Tampa Heights to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and Tampa's Riverwalk to Sparkman Wharf on Channelside Drive, which don't require a pass.
