Man Arrested In Connection With Homicide At Blue Sky Motel

LAKEWOOD, CO — A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 29-year-old Geronimo Alvarado in Lakewood, police said Thursday. Julian Joel Rivera, 34, was taken into custody in Castle Rock, officials said. He faces first-degree murder charges. Officers were called to the Blue Sky Motel, at 6205 W. Colfax Ave., at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday after the shooting was reported. The officers found Alvarado in the hotel with gunshot wounds, police said. He died soon after, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
