BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 499 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Boulder County, according to the latest public health data. As of Thursday, 17,148 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll has reached 231 after 14 people died over the past week. Around 454 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak began, according to Boulder County Public Health. More than 325,293 tests have been conducted among county residents. People ages 70 and older in Boulder County are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, but over the past several weeks, the allocation of doses has remained very limited, and appointments for the vaccine have been filling up quickly. Residents can still sign up with their medical provider — such as Kaiser Permanente — or a hospital affiliated with their medical provider. President Joe Biden on Tuesday announced that the U.S. is ramping up the supply of vaccines over the next several weeks. His administration expects to offer doses for 300 million people by the end of the summer or early fall. A list of Boulder County providers and sign up information can be found here.
