Description

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco police warned the public on Friday about imposters who were going door to door pretending to be part of a senior service program. A service provider for seniors in the city recently was made aware of incidents in which subjects posed as food delivery drivers contacted people and asked to enter their homes, police said. Imposters reportedly wore clothing that was similar to uniforms worn by meal delivery drivers and asked to enter homes to conduct a survey. The suspects also reportedly asked for money, and in at least one instance, suspects had a vehicle with markers similar to the official logo of the service provider. The senior service provider has launched a campaign to notify their clients of this suspicious and potentially fraudulent activity. Bay City News contributed to this report.
