3 Elmhurst Residents Face Domestic Violence Charges: Cops

ELMHURST, IL — Three Elmhurst residents were arrested on charges of domestic violence in the last few days. All three were taken to the DuPage County Jail. Here is information from the police reports: Tom A. Parchim, 60, of Elmhurst, was arrested at 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of South Bryan on two counts of domestic violence. According to a police report, Parchim struck and strangled a woman. The victim had red marks on her temple and throat. Parchim denied anything physical happened. William Friel, 33, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of South Poplar on charges of domestic battery (two counts) and interfering with reporting a domestic battery. According to a police report, the victim said Friel became irate and pushed her. He was also arrested on a domestic battery charge in the same block in 2018. Ganime Nazif, 33, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of North West on two counts of domestic battery. According to a police report, Nazif scratched a man during an argument. The victim had visible scratches to his face and arm. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
