Description
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Due to all of the recent rainfall, Los Angeles County Health Officer Muntu Davis, MD, MPH, is cautioning residents to steer clear of the ocean until 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1. Storm drains in Manhattan Beach bring rainfall to the ocean that can be contaminated by bacteria, chemicals, debris, trash, and other public health hazards from city streets. Going in the water in such areas can make people sick.
Recorded information on beach conditions is available 24 hours a day on the County's beach closure hotline at 1-800-525-5662. Information is also available online at PublicHealth.LACounty.gov/Beach/.
