MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Two auto thefts and a robbery highlight the latest crime report from the Manhattan Beach Police Department. The report covers January 18-24 and includes assault and thefts, as well.
The auto thefts took place in the 100 block of 38th Street and the 2500 block of North Valley Drive, on January 20 and January 22, respectively. The assault happened on January 22 in the 1800 block of North Poinsettia Avenue. Another assault took place in the same block on the same street on January 24.
The robbery occurred in the 2100 block of Ardmore Avenue on January 24. Thefts took place in the city on January 19, 20, 21, 22 and 24. They occurred in the 400 block of 10th Street, 3500 block of Palm Avenue, 1800 block of Rosecrans Avenue, at Manhattan Avenue and 27th Street, and 4400 block of The Strand. The 10th Street theft involved golf clubs that were stolen; the Palm Avenue incident involved an unlocked vehicle; three incidents in the 1800 block of Rosecrans Avenue were all shoplifting, and hidden keys were involved in the thefts on The Strand and Manhattan Avenue and 27th Street.
The Manhattan Beach Police Department reports these "Preliminary Crime Statistics," which are "subject to change and correction" as a way "to give citizens a good ballpark of crime in Manhattan Beach, but they are not official numbers."
