Description
Press release from the City of Golden Valley:
January 29, 2021
The City's work to disavow discriminatory covenants and related discriminatory housing practices is expanding. In October 2020, the City Council voted to participate in the Just Deeds Coalition, a group of community stakeholders committed to acknowledging and addressing systemic racism in housing.
Members of the coalition include Mapping Prejudice, the Minnesota Association of City Attorneys, Edina Realty Title, and the Minneapolis and St. Paul Area Associations of Realtors.
Participating government agencies include the City of Golden Valley, the City of Robbinsdale, and Hennepin County.
More cities are expected to join in the coming months, and the coalition will launch a website in February.
Check Your Property To find out if you have a restrictive covenant on your property and to get support removing it, complete the registration form on the City website and submit it to [email protected].
