KANE COUNTY, IL — More than 6,200 people in Kane County received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine by Friday, public health data shows. That means about 1.16 percent of Kane County residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. Vaccine administration has picked up speed over the past seven days, according to statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Just over 6,200 vaccine doses were administered from Jan. 22-28, up more than 51 percent from the 4,107 doses the previous week. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered stood at 888 on Thursday, down from an all-time high of 1,005 on Jan. 13, the state's data shows. Nearly 888,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine were administered statewide by Friday.
