DOYLESTOWN, PA — Magisterial District Judge Mark Douple, who was elected in 2010 to serve as Doylestown's District Judge, has announced his intention to run for re-election.
Douple has been a resident of Doylestown since 1986, when he began his legal career. He was elected president of the Magisterial District Judges Association of Bucks County and is one of seven members of the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania to be appointed to the Ethics and Professional Committee.
Borough residents may remember Douple for serving on Borough Council from 2002 until 2010, when he was elected as district judge. While on council he served as chairman of the Recreation, Shade Tree and Property Committee, the Zoning and Planning Committee and the Public Safety Committee. He also served on the Personnel and Energy and Environmental Committees.
Judge Douple remains a member of the Bucks County Bar Association. He was also on the board of directors for the Lenape Valley Foundation from 2003 to 2012.
The post carries a 10-year term.
