EL CERRITO, CA — Thousands of people in and around El Cerrito were without power early Wednesday morning, a PG&E outage map shows. One outage that left more than 1400 customers in the cold and dark was fixed just before 8 a.m., PG&E said in an email. The company said the outage "was caused by the weather" but did not elaborate. Across the Bay Area, more than 36,000 customers were without power at 4:30 a.m. By 6:30, the number had been cut to 27,000.
