MICHIGAN — Michigan reported 1,774 new cases of the coronavirus Friday while also adding six COVID-19 deaths, according to the most recent data released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Friday's updated coronavirus figures bring Michigan's coronavirus totals to 557,883 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 14,497 reported COVID-19 deaths, according to state health officials.
The state added 1,872 new COVID-19 cases and 80 more COVID-19 deaths Thursday. More than 463,000 people in Michigan have recovered from the coronavirus, according to state health officials.

According to the World Health Organization, Michigan has reported the 14th most coronavirus cases in the U.S. The state is ranked eighth in the nation in reported COVID-19 deaths.
The U.S. leads the world in reported coronavirus with more than 26.4 million, according to the World Health Organization. Over 445,000 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the U.S., while more than 16.1 million recoveries from the coronavirus have been reported across the nation.
Over 102 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Of those cases, more than 2.2 million have resulted in death and over 74,000 have reportedly led to recovery.
