The Legal LABB is here to help! ​ The Legal LABB is hosting a 3 part Fatherhood Legal series with the intent to provide information and empowerment to fathers about their rights involving their children. Join us as we partner with the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter NBA Fellowship to explore topics like time sharing, co-parenting, child support, establishing paternity and more with the aim to educate and empower fathers to help them succeed as involved parents. MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND THIS FREE WORKSHOP PART 1: ARE YOU THE FATHER? - - ESTABLISHING PATERNITY AND TIME SHARING FEB 16 | 6:30 -8PM The Legal LABB's Legal Access Center will be conducting a free educational workshop on Establishing paternity and time sharing as the kickoff to a three part Fatherhood Legal Series. "Are you the Father?" workshop will be focused on providing education on the importance of establishing paternity, implementing a fair and an effective time sharing plan and resources and information available on how to do both. PART 2: SHOW ME THE MONEY! - CHILD SUPPORT, TAX DEDUCTIONS, AND STIMULUS PAYMENTS FEB 23 | 6:30-8PM The Legal LABB's Legal Access Center will be conducting a free educational workshop on child support, tax deductions and stimulus payments as the sophomore workshop in a three part Fatherhood Legal Series. Fathers with child support obligations often face difficult issues such as: not understanding how the child support system operates; unpaid child support (e.g. large, unpaid arrearages that result from prolonged unemployment or incarceration); and legal consequences that result from unpaid child support (e.g. jail time) ​ "Show me the money!" workshop will explore the child support system and how to effectively participate within it. PART 3: CO-PARENTING DURING A PANDEMIC MAR 23 | 6:30-8PM The Legal LABB's Legal Access Center will be conducting a free educational workshop on co-parenting during the pandemic as the final workshop in a three part Fatherhood Legal Series. ​Co-parenting across multiple households has always been challenging, but the restrictions during this pandemic lead to a new set of questions and challenges for co-parenting fathers.
