WOBURN, MA — Woburn's positive test rate fell to 6.4 percent in the latest Massachusetts Department of Health city and town coronavirus report Thursday. The city's two-week rate was down nearly a percentage point from last week when it was 7.3 percent according to the state report. But it remains above the 5 percent threshold that marks a community as high-risk for the virus. The city had 254 active coronavirus cases Wednesday. >>MA Town-By-Town Coronavirus Stats: High-Risk List Falls Below 200 Dozens of cities and towns across Massachusetts were removed from the high-risk category Thursday, amid a multi-week decline in coronavirus rates across the state. The seven-day average positive test rate for the state fell to 4.44 percent, down a percentage point over the last week. Statewide case counts, hospitalizations and deaths also all fell over the last week, although all measures remained far above the lows over the summer. Woburn had 389 cases over the last two weeks, or 66.9 average daily cases per 100,000 residents, versus 496 cases in last week's report.
