Drummer for blues band

Meets

Clarkston GA

Description

We all know how things are now, so I'm posting this just to test the waters. We have great material, great players and we were ready to book gigs when the corona virus came along. We have a great rehearsal space with drums, PA, the lot. We're a 6-piece band: harmonica/vocal, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, piano, bass and soon, hopefully, drums. I'm aware that there's a good chance there won't be any live engagements for awhile, but other bands are booking gigs now and I hate for us to be left out should the situation improve. So here's the deal: we have a bunch of material you'll need to learn, but all of it is straight ahead blues with only a few cues and different tempos and feels here and there. I'll provide you with the songs you absolutely must learn, and the rest you'll be able to just wing it (it'll help of you're familiar with blues drumming: shuffles, 2 beats etc.) When the coast is clear we'll have a couple of rehearsals and then we'll start playing out. A video of you playing would be perfect. Please know how to play blues; no offense but we're not looking for drummers who think blues is Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stay safe, hope to hear from you.
