OUR STORY
Mac’s Place started with a father (Mac) and son (Brady) sharing a passion for old American cars and the items that went with them. Sadly, Mac passed away in 2012. Brady wanted a place where others can enjoy this fascinating American history and found an old building matching the history of the things he collects; The Firestone Tire building on 300 south Broadway. The automotive history behind this building is rich, and has seen everything from making and selling tires, to being several gas stations, and even selling motorcycles. This place is the perfect spot. Mac’s Place was born. We have a barbershop, shoe shines, haberdasher, bar, massages, a conference room, and enough vintage eye candy and reading material to keep you busy for days. A high-end place full of museum quality antiques that our members can actually USE rather than simply see. Whether it’s our turn-of-the-century, hand carved oak barbershop back bar taken off a steam ship, or our 1930’s shoe shine bench straight from Chicago, you’ll be able to be hands on with history. Not to mention our numerous antique leather chesterfield sofas brought over from England. We are a members only operation, so you’ll have to know someone to come in as a guest. Future plans include several locations around the country, all sharing the common trait of a limited, small member base of local business owners and influential people.
Our mission is simple: to provide a place for good old-fashioned values to shine. We connect good people with good surroundings, good service, and of course other good people. This results in feeling better, looking better, and networking better.
