Description
The moon is a powerful source of energy and connection to the universe. In this series, we invite you to explore the magic of the moon. In this Winter Full Moon Series, we invite you to explore the magic of the winter moon as each class will focus on the theme of that month's full moon. In addition, attendees will do some light yoga stretching and enjoy a short meditation to experience a release of anything that no longer serves us. Finally, participants will set and write down intentions for the new month. There will be an opportunity for sharing at the end if anyone wishes to. DECEMBER Cold Moon | Tuesday, December 29, 2020 | 7:30 - 9 PM | $25 The full moon in December is called the Cold Moon. It is also known as the Long Night’s Moon or Moon Before Yule. The term “Long Night’s Moon'' is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long, and because the moon is above the horizon for a long time. The midwinter full moon has a high trajectory across the sky because it is opposite a low sun. The Cold Moon celebration will involve learning the energies of the moon versus the sun and how to recognize and use them to find balance in your life, especially during the winter when the days are shorter. We will be celebrating and letting go of 2020 (woohoo) and ushering in the coming year. JANUARY Wolf Moon | Thursday, January 28, 2021 | 7:30 - 9 PM | $25 The full moon in January is called the Wolf Moon. It is named by Native American tribes in honor of the wolves in winter. The tribes had to learn to coexist with their wolf brothers and find a balance of respect and protection. January’s celebration will allow us to explore these same concepts in ourselves. We will find balance by embracing things we may naturally be inclined to push away and explore new ways to communicate, not only with others but with ourselves. Guest Alex Paulos will share a short presentation about the Wolf Moon. He is a personality expert/profiler and master at teaching people how to communicate. FEBRUARY Snow Moon | Saturday, February 27, 2021 | 6 - 7:30 PM | $25 The full moon in February is called the Snow Moon. Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east most often called February’s full moon the Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this moon as the Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult. In the Snow Moon celebration, we will explore the concept of intrinsic worth and how to recognize our own divinity and personal worthiness. We will discuss how to accomplish hard things and banish self-doubt. Guest Holly Semanoff is a breathwork expert and teacher who will lead us through breathwork exercises to help us connect with our higher selves. LEARN MORE
