STOUGHTON, MA — The Stoughton Health Department has been hard at work administering COVID-19 vaccines to the town's first responders and health care workers the last few weeks. And now, town officials announced they are preparing for the state's second phase of vaccinations. The second phase of the state's vaccination plan starts with people over 75 and then moves to people over 65 and those with two or more significant health conditions (comorbidities). Later in phase 2 includes teachers, grocery workers, transportation employees and other essential workers. The last part of Phase 2 is people with one comorbidity. Health officials set up a Covid-19 vaccine hotline, where residents can leave their name and call back information. Town officials said no appointments can be scheduled until the town has vaccine doses in hand. "In the next few weeks, we expect that more vaccine doses will become available and more vaccine locations will be opening up," Stoughton health officials said in a statement. "This will give people more options." Town officials said Stoughton plan to use the Stoughton Council on Aging at 110 Rockland Street for vaccine clinics. Once dates are determined, they will be posted on the state's vaccination site map and on the town website.
