Description

We hope you'll join us for a hybrid, in-person & livestreamed, Ash Wednesday service. Seating will begin at 6:30pm. Enter via the South Entrance on 4th street. Please be seated by 6:45pm, so the live-stream will not be interrupted. This service will be offered in-person and livestreamed. To attend in person, please sign up here. There will be communion and the imposition of ashes at the end of the service. Masks are required at all times. If you do not have a mask, some will be available at the entrance for a free-will offering of $1. If you are in the high-risk categories of over 65, have underlying medical conditions, or are immunocompromised, we strongly recommend that you continue to join us on our live-stream. If you have visited a COVID-19 hotspot in the past two weeks, if you’ve been in contact with someone who is sick, or if you are feeling unwell yourself, we ask that you please stay home. If you have reserved your seat and decide not to join us, let us know and we will reassign your ticket. Use the stairwell to the Gathering Place. A greeter or usher will escort less mobile persons to the elevator. Keep a distance of six feet or more when socializing with others. The designated restrooms will be on the second floor only. Upon approaching the Sanctuary, an usher will ask for your name and seating assignment. He or she will lead your family unit to your assigned seat. All designated seats will have access to an aisle, so you will not need to climb across another group. Please note there will not be childcare available. We ask that you bring a quiet toy or activity for your youngest ones. Please note that there will be no bulletins, Hymnals, Bibles, pens & paper, or pew cushions. There will be no passing of the Offertory plate. A basket will be available at Sanctuary entrances. Please bring your offering from home in an envelope. There will be no singing or responsive readings. We encourage you to mouth the words for the Lord’s Prayer or songs. You will be asked to remain seated for the reading of the Gospel and other ceremonial moments. There will be no choir, but instead soloists and small groups socially distanced in the Chancel. Please do not greet one another with hugging, shaking hands, or physical contact of any kind. We encourage you to wave and converse quietly from a safe distance instead. Following the service, ushers will excuse everyone row by row. You will exit through the Washington street doors. Please proceed directly out of the building and do not congregate around the building exit. If you wish to visit with one another, please do so in the parking lot or across the street from the church to allow everyone to exit the building safely.
