HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng is advising residents of a sudden power outage at Dixwell Avenue near Benham Street and Mather Street. Fire Chief Gary Merwede said United Illuminating has been notified about the outage on Dixwell (Plaza and South) and "they're on the problem." Merwede wrote in a post on Twitter that the Hamden Fire Department "worked an elevator rescue at Canal Commons. Power will be back soon."
