              Artist Focus - PROJECT HAVE HOPE Project Have Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed by Malden resident and photojournalist Karen Sparacio. Project Have Hope seeks to empower women in the Acholi Quarter, south of Kampala, Uganda, by providing education to women and their children, and assists the women in establishing sustainable business opportunities to promote economic stability. The extraordinary women in the Acholi Quarter partner with Project Have Hope, working with Akello Esther as their chairperson. Through their artistry and industriousness, the women create works of art that generate revenue to fund educational and economic programs that support their community. Some of the works are sold at The Gallery@57. Project Have Hope provides ways for the public to take action to support the women in the organization: sponsorship of women, sponsorship of children, the #IHaveHope campaign, hosting jewelry parties, and fundraising.
