a patriot is somebody who believes in what their country stands for, and is willing to defend it. since we live in a democracy, the will of the majority prevails. If the majority opinion differs from yours, you have avenues to try to get things changed. If the majority prevails, you must accept the will of the majority. If you throw a hissy fit, refuse to accept the will of the people, and use violence to try to corrupt legitimate processes, you are not a patriot, you are a traitor. this is the reason religion cannot be part of the political system. religion by definition, is a dictatorship. you must follow the teachings of your church without question, since these teachings supposedly came from god. it is a belief system not base on fact or logic, but on ancient legends, and is a personal belief that should not be imposed on other people in a democratic society, so leave religion out of politics.
