School Bus Accident In Elmhurst Causes Road Closure

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police have closed York Street between Butterfield and Van Buren because of an accident Wednesday afternoon where a school bus hit a light pole, according to a city news alert. According to the alert, there were no passengers on the bus and the driver was transferred to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. York Road between Butterfield and Van Buren is expected to be closed until 4:30 p.m. while ComEd and public works employees repair the damaged light pole. The city asks drivers to avoid the area at this time.
