PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia are asking for help finding two people involved in an armed robbery on a SEPTA platform that left a man with two gunshot wounds.
The incident occurred at 7:48 p.m. Sunday on the platform of City Hall station.
Police said an 18-year-old man was sitting on the platform when another man armed with a handgun with an extended magazine came up to him.
The armed man pointed the gun at the victim and demanded his belongings, police said.
According to police, the victim refused and the suspect pistol whipped him on the left side of his face.
The victim fought back by punching the robber in the face, knocking him to the ground, police said.
The two struggled for the gun, which led to the victim being shot twice in his legs, police said.
During the struggle, a woman then attacked the victim by jumping on the victim's back.
The man and woman fled the area, but the victim was able to gain possession of the suspect's handgun.
Police described the armed robber as a black male standing 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, light-blue jeans, and distinctive black and white colored Chuck Taylor sneakers. He was armed with a black Taurus 9 mm handgun with an extended magazine. The woman was described as black, about 16 to 18 years old, and wearing a white Khimar.
