CHICAGO — Two 14-year-old girls were charged with vehicular hijacking Thursday. The girls allegedly forced a man in his 60s from his vehicle using a chokehold, robbed him and stole the car in the 3400 block of West Douglas Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. After a short foot pursuit, officers arrested one of the girls around 11:41 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Trumbull. The second girl was arrested in the 3400 block of West Douglas Avenue soon after, police said. The girls, both juveniles who were not identified by police, were charged with vehicular hijacking. One of the girls also was charged with two counts of aggravated battery for strangling a person older than 60. The second girl faces additional charges of theft of between $500 and $10,000, police said.
