WEST VILLAGE, NY — A woman walking down a West Village street in early January was sucker-punched in the face, according to police. The unprovoked attack occurred on Jan. 7 at 6:16 p.m. near 6th Avenue and Waverly Place, police said. Police said no words were exchanged between the two before the man threw a punch into the unsuspecting 28-year-old woman's face. The attacker ran away, and the woman was taken to a hospital for a small cut on her face. Police released a photo Wednesday of a man they want to speak to in connection to the sucker-punch. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
