Description
I volunteered to find a good home for Daisy, a sweet little poodle mix whose longtime owner has had to move into an assisted living memory care facility and could not bring Daisy with her. After initial discussion, I can put prospective adopters in touch with Daisy's current caretaker who can answer more questions. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, SMALL REHOMING FEE ($25). Here is some basic info:
• Owner had Daisy for around 9 years. Prior to that, she was in foster care after being rescued as a stray.
• Daisy is 13 years old and weighs approx. 13-14 lbs.
• Vet appointment in January 2021, good health (but may need dental care, unclear); vet records from January 2021 appointment available upon request.
• Currently eating dry dog food, current caretaker says she eats well with no issues.
• Daisy’s owner had her peeing on pee pads in the home, current caretaker just takes her outside. Because Daisy was using indoor pee pads, she has not been trained to alert her owner to take her outside for potty breaks. She just paces back and forth when she needs to go.
• Current caretaker says her energy level is good, she enjoys being outdoors and is good about not pulling on the leash during walks.
• Current caretaker describes Daisy as “skittish,” nervous. But she adds, “Once Daisy gets used to a person, she likes to sit with and be close to that person.”
• Daisy has not been around cats, but her foster home 9 years ago also had three other dogs. Current caretaker says she would probably do best in a quiet home where she is the only pet.
