Want to use our wood shop? You'll need to go through our wood safety class first! Class Description & Agenda: This class is meant for Pikes Peak Makerspace members ONLY who want to get started using our wood shop. We will go over basic wood shop safety and begenner training on most equipment including Tablesaw, Miter Saw, Planer, Router Table, Drill Press, Belt/Disk Sander, and a few others! This class is mainly focused on Safety. We will cover tool operation and what not to do. We will not focus on woodworking technique. More importantly, this class does NOT cover the Wood Lathe, Handibot or CNC. Cost: $10 for members / this class is not offered to the public. This class is offered on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. About the Instructor:--- Please Note! (1) Caution notice: We will be dealing with dust, noise, glue, and flying wood chips therefore: Dress appropriately! closed toed shoes, snug fit clothing, etc...Bring your own PPE (personal protective equipment) or be prepared to purchase some from us for near cost.(2) Covid-19 notice: For the safety of our instructors and others who you might attend the class with social distancing and wearing a mask are mandatory at all times.
