WOBURN - Mia Catalini was recognized as the Employee of the Month by her employer, Practical Applications, Inc. “Mia constantly went above and beyond what was asked of her. She showed great initiative and had a complete understanding of what tasks were required and could anticipate the next tasks without being asked.” said CEO, Gary Broberg. Mia works as a Wastewater Chemist/Engineering co-op at Practical Applications, Inc. During the school year, Mia attends the University of Vermont where she is a Sophomore majoring in Environmental science. The Employee of the Month award is given to an employee who exemplifies Andrew Rowan in “A Message to Garcia”, a widely distributed essay written by Elbert Hubbard in 1899, expressing the value of individual initiative and conscientiousness in work. Practical Applications Inc. is a water and wastewater treatment system and service company in the Greater Boston area. The company designs and manufactures process water systems, provides water and wastewater services, engineering consulting services, and wastewater operator training. For the past 25 years, Practical Application’s, Inc. has helped hundreds of companies stay within MWRA compliance.
