PASCO COUNTY, FL — Pasco County Government has earned a 2021 Top Workplaces USA award. Energage announced Pasco County as one of the winning organizations during a virtual event Wednesday. "We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the top workplaces in the country," said Pasco County Administrator Dan Biles. "Pasco County government is committed to focusing on our people and the customers we serve, and this recognition solidifies our growing reputation as a progressive and innovative high-performing organization." Top Workplaces USA offers national recognition for large organizations with more than 150 employees. More than 1,100 organizations from across the country participated in the Top Workplaces USA survey. Winners are chosen based solely on employee feedback, gathered through an Energage employee engagement survey. Results are calculated by comparing the survey's research-based statements, including 15 culture drivers that are proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks. "During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance," said Energage CEO Eric Rubino. "When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward. Top Workplaces draw on real-time insights into what works best for their organization, so they can make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their people and their business." This is the inaugural year for Energage's Top Workplaces USA, built on the program's 14-year history surveying more than 20 million employees across 54 markets for the regional Top Workplaces awards. Pasco County Government employs more than 2,800 employees, representing 57 lines of business, serving more than 550,000 customers and covering 740 square miles of territory. Click here to see our Top Workplace Celebration video. On Tuesday, Pasco County announced it 2020 Star Team of the Year, Star Performer of the Year and Star Leader of the Year. These awards recognize the most outstanding staff contributors based on specific criteria for job performance, devotion to duty and cooperation observed throughout the year. Pasco County team members submit detailed nominations by department and branch, and the county's leadership team determines the overall winners. The Pasco County 2020 Star Team of the Year is the Pasco Community CARES team. This group of more than 80 team members, spanning multiple departments and agencies, workedtogether for months, distributing more than $7.9 million in Coronavirus, Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act funding to community members who experienced economic hardship directly due to the coronavirus pandemic. Todd Curci, technical support manager with the Information Technology Department, is PascoCounty's 2020 Star Performer of the Year. As Pasco County transitioned to a remote workmodel during the pandemic, Curci took on the challenge of implementing all the necessary onlinecollaboration and meeting tools, tirelessly providing support and training across the organization. Media Relations & Communications Manager Tambrey Laine is Pasco County's 2020 StarLeader of the Year. Through her leadership and expertise, Laine has built a focused, results-driven team from the ground up, with exceptional performance during challenges like thepandemic. Under Laine's leadership, Pasco Media Relations & Communications has quicklybecome one of the most widely trusted, effective and efficient communications resources in theTampa Bay area. "Now more than ever, Pasco County is attracting, growing and supporting a workforce of servantleaders, dedicated to improving lives; contributing to a purpose larger than their individual job;and performing at the highest possible level day in and day out," said Dr. Marc Bellas, whodeveloped Pasco's Employee Recognition Program. "In 2020, our biggest challenge brought out the very best in our team." The Pasco Board of County Commissioners formally recognized the winners with a resolution during the Jan. 26 board meeting.
