BROCKTON, MA — Brockton District Court announced Wednesday that it has closed temporarily due to COVID-19 exposure. The courthouse will be cleaned during the closure and reopen on Friday, Jan. 29. "Brockton District Court is closed temporarily and will reopen on Friday, 1/29," says the district's website. "A Court Officer who was last at the Brockton District Court on 1/26 has tested positive for COVID-19." The temporary closure of Brockton District Court comes after the state announced a 90-day plan for operations on Jan. 8. The plan, which will last through April 5, includes staffing court offices at 50% capacity, adopting a phased approach to resuming jury trials, developing jury trial priority plans, and expanding remote operations.
