More Apartments Proposed In Downtown Milford: Report

MILFORD, CT — A Planning and Zoning Board public hearing will be held in February on a proposal to develop the historic Baldwin House on Prospect Street into 36 one-bedroom apartments, office space and a fitness center, reports the New Haven Register. The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 2 via Zoom. It's expected there will be numerous residents speaking at the hearing, officials told the Register. The historic Baldwin House will be restored as part of the 1-acre development. David L. Baldwin build the historic home at 67 Prospect Street in 1835. Baldwin served as a town clerk for 27 years. Local historians had previously opposed razing the house because they believe some of the city's founding fathers are buried on the site.
