MILFORD, CT — A Bronx, New York man is accused of fraudulently purchasing a vehicle in Milford, police said. On Nov. 5, 2019 the Milford Police Department was contacted by the New York Police Department Fraud Squad regarding the fraudulent purchase of a 2016 Honda CR-V, police said. An investigation was conducted by Det. Sgt. Cortest, and he determined that Dary Fermin, 36, of Woodycrest Avenue, fraudulently used the identity of a victim currently residing in Puerto Rico to open a bank account at TD Bank, 1361 Boston Post Road, and fraudulently purchased a vehicle with the victim's information at Honda of Milford, 767 Bridgeport Ave. in August 2019, police said. Fermin turned himself into police on Jan. 24, 2021 and is charged with: Identity Theft 1st DegreeIdentity Theft 3rd DegreeForgery 2nd DegreeForgery 3rd DegreeLarceny 2nd DegreeCriminal Impersonation (2 Counts) Fermin was released on $50,000 bail and will appear in Milford Court on March 31.
