EAST HAVEN, CT - Nearly three years after her student pilot brother was killed in the crash of a small plane near Roses Farm and Silver Sands roads, the sister of Pablo Campos-Isona has settled a wrongful death lawsuit, the AP reported. In February of 2017, the 31-year-old East Haven man was learning how to fly with now out-of-commission American Flight Academy when the Piper PA38 crashed. It was reported by the National Transportation Safety Board that Campos-Isona was running through so-called "touch-and-go" landings at Tweed New Haven Airport, flying the craft with instructor Rafayel Hany Wassef. Campos-Isona was killed. Wassef lived but suffered injuries. The NTSB found a fuel selector valve failed and caused the engine to stall. Campos-Isona's sister Marie Matta-Isona of Orange sued American Flight Academy in a wrongful death action in New Haven Superior Court. Read the complaint here. Isona v.
