South San ISD Outdoor Learning Environment Groundbreaking Ceremony You're invited to the groundbreaking ceremony for South San Antonio Independent School District's new Outdoor Learning Environment at Benavidez Elementary School. The innovative playscape project will inspire all Pre-K students in the South San Antonio Independent School District during their learning journey. The Outdoor Learning Environment will encourage students to make connections, enhance their self-esteem, and boost interpersonal skills; all while enjoying some fresh air and sunshine. It will also help them develop conceptual knowledge and skills. The playscape is coming to fruition after a Pre-K 4 SA Competitive Education Grant was awarded to the district in late 2020.
