San Diego Zoo, Safari Park To Reopen Saturday After Nearly Two-Month Closure

By Elizabeth Ireland, Times of San Diego January 26, 2021 The San Diego Zoo and Safari Park will reopen to the public Saturday after being closed since early December due to regional coronavirus stay-at-home orders. To ensure guest safety, zoo officials announced Monday they enacted changes that comply with guidelines outlined by public health authorities now that orders have been lifted. Both parks are scheduled to resume operations in phases starting with outdoor dining, 25 percent capacity in retail outlets, a reduced number of guests on grounds, one-way path modifications, required face coverings (regardless of vaccination status), observed social distancing practices, and an increased number of sanitizing stations, according to zoo officials. Attractions such as the Guided Bus Tour, Kangaroo Bus and Skyfari Aerial Tram, as well as the Safari Park's Africa Tram, will be unavailable, officials said.
