Northbrook Public Schools Get $600K In Coronavirus Relief Funding

NORTHBROOK, IL — Northbrook's three main public school districts are set to receive more than $600,000 in grants from the second coronavirus-relief package approved last month by federal lawmakers. That $900 billion relief package included about $2.25 billion for Illinois public school districts, more than four times the amount they received from the first federal relief package, according to Carmen Ayala, the state's superintendent of education. Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 is set to receive $256,829, while Northbrook Elementary School District will get $182,101, and Northbrook School District 28 is slated to net $165,423 according to the Illinois State Board of Education. Other school districts in the North Shore receiving coronavirus relief funding include: Glenview School District 34 ($1,424,445), Deerfield School District 109 ($209,537) and New Trier Township High School 203 ($352,903).
