The SCICL Leader Summit brings coaches, volunteers, & parents together to develop skills as well as share Knowledge & strategies. The SCICL Leaders Conference brings together coaches/volunteers/parents/cyclists to develop skills and knowledge and share strategies. Learn how to Establish a Team, Design Practices & Athlete Progression. NICA philosophy Risk Mitigation, Teen Trail Corp program, Ride Leading, NICA Resources, Fundraising, On-The-Bike 101 & 201. Team formation and official registration starts in April, Practices can start July 1st, Race season from September through November of 2021, with 5 race venues located across the state. March 20, Sat: Leadership, Risk Management, Team Structures The nuts and bolts of working with student athletes in the context of a NICA mountain bike club. Cover basic knowledge all NICA Level 1, 2 and 3 coaches need to incorporate into their club. Mar 20, Sun: How to Start & Manage a School-based MTB Team, NICA OTB Skills, NICA approved first-aid or WFA check-off PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR ALL FIRST AID CLASSES NICA-endorsed training methodologies - the progressive steps needed to teach anyone basic through advanced MTB skills. Learn experiential teaching techniques, how to accommodate different learning styles, how to create a positive learning environment for young riders. The majority of this clinic will be held outdoors, so please bring your bike and appropriate riding and safety gear for the weather. Does not include: lodging or dinner.
