LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Village Board has authorized the order and purchase of several vehicles for the village and police department. At its Monday meeting, the board authorized the purchases of four police vehicles, a 2021 Ford F-150 truck, a 2021 Monroe truck equipment Ford F-600 body, a 2021 Ford F-600 chassis and cab, and a 2021 Ford F-250 truck.
Police Vehicles
According to board documents, four new Ford SUV Interceptor police utility vehicles were purchases to replace a portion of the current fleet which have "outlived their useful life." Willowbrook Ford was the low bidder for the purchase of the vehicles, for a total not to exceed $140,000. The price does not include the vehicle build-out and equipment installation.
Police Chief Marc Maton said the vehicles would be delivered in the summer.
Public Works Vehicles
The purchase of the Ford F150 truck, 2021 Monroe truck equipment Ford F-600 body, 2021 Ford F-600 chassis and cab, and a 2021 Ford F-250 truck are all for the Public Works Department. According to board documents, the trucks are all replacement vehicles, not additions to the fleet.
The department was able to obtain government pricing from Willowbrook Ford for the vehicles, and the quote including the trade-in for the Ford F-150 is $27,230.60, board documents state. The purchase of the 2021 Monroe truck equipment Ford F-600 body will not exceed $43,699; the total cost of the 2021 Ford F600 chassis and cab is $99,570.80 not including trade-in; and the cost of the Ford F250 truck is $35,265.56, not including trade-in value.
The vehicle replacements are part of the 5-year Capital Equipment plan, board documents state.
