Press release from the City of Mentor: January 27, 2021 The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increases 0.4% to 4.7% for the month of December 2020. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 2.9%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increases 0.8% as well to 5.5% for the month of December; one year ago, it was 3.3%. Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor has the second lowest unemployment rate with Kettering having the lowest rate at 4.6%. Cuyahoga Falls is ranked third with 4.9%, followed by Columbus at fourth with 5.2%. The City's civilian labor force decreased to 24,900. The State of Ohio's unemployment rate remains at 5.2% for the month of December.
