ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. ARRESTS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Paul J. Sparrow, 38, of the 400 block of Stella, Elgin, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended/revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, and was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Jan. 16 at Northwest Highway and Euclid Avenue. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of March 4. ASSAULT Elena J. Estupinan, 29, of the 2700 block of N Buffalo Grove Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of assault, and was arrested at 7:47 p.m. Jan. 18 in the 200 block of E Sigwalt Street. She was released on bond and assigned a court date of Feb. 24. RETAIL THEFT Richard S. Decesare, 31, of the 5500 block of N Nordica Avenue, Chicago, is accused of retail theft, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 0-100 block of S Evergreen Avenue. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of Feb. 24. INCIDENTS CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY A resident in the 2400 block of E Oakton Street reported that between 7 p.m. Jan. 22 and 10:30 p.m. Jan. 23 someone damaged their vehicle by using an unknown sharp object to scratch the front passenger side fender. The cost to repair the damage is unknown. ARMED ROBBERY Police responded to an armed robber that occurred between 6:44-6:47 p.m. Jan. 22 at EZ Pawn, 1718 W Algonquin Road. Two men brandished a gun in the commission of a robbery. Witnesses gave descriptions of the men to police. The men were last seen leaving the area in a white vehicle with an unknown license plate. Taken from the business was money and jewelry. The total value of the stolen items is under investigation at this time.
