Hello! I teach piano/keyboard lessons with an emphasis on understanding the language of music. We start with the absolute basics of Music; Intervals, Scales, and Chords. Then we look at how these basics are used to construct chord progressions, and how chord progressions are used to make songs. Whether you like Rock, Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Pop, or Country, we will explore the fundamental concepts that all these styles have in common. My goal is to equip you with a good understanding and appreciation of how music is made and, with practice, to enable you to make your own music! What's your goal? My name is O. Smith, I love music, and I'm a former Sony recording artist with over 25 years of piano/keyboard experience. Let me share some of my knowledge with you! I take students of all styles and experience levels...my rates are $40/hr and $25 for a 30-min lesson. I live right on the edge of Downtown ABQ, but lessons can be at your place or mine.
