Description
STOUGTHON, MA — A Boston woman was arrested Sunday after police said she burglarized the home of an elderly Stoughton woman twice over the summer.
When the burglaries occurred, Stoughton police determined the suspect was a woman who entered the home under false pretenses. Police said the woman, later identified as Carla Darosa, went through great lengths to conceal her identity, but she had a very specific tattoo that was seen on home security footage.
The case had gone unsolved for months, but last week, Brockton police put out a bulletin for area police departments to be on the look out for Darosa. According to Brockton police, Darosa used stolen identities to shop at stores in Stoughton.
Stoughton detectives saw the bulletin and quickly drew comparisons to the woman seen on camera during the summer burglaries. Police compared the tattoos and found they were identical. Stoughton and Brockton officers then worked together to build enough evidence for an arrest warrant.
Darosa was arrested at her Boston home Sunday morning. She was held overnight at the Stoughton Police Department and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Stoughton District Court.
