It's time to dig out the arm warmers, wool socks and, of course, the red flannel. It's one last Ride before the snow flies! The Red Flannel Ride by the Lorain County Bicycle Club will again head out of Oberlin, Ohio, at 9 am on Sunday Nov. 7th, rain or sunshine, warm or cold weather. Note that the ride has returned to the First Sunday in November.
46th Annual Red Flannel Ride. Two routes --a 32-miler and 61-miler-- are available. Both ride along scenic rural roads in Lorain and Erie counties. Yes, there will be some rolling hills.
The Details
The 46th annual Red Flannel Metric Century Ride and Half Metric Century Ride departs at at 9 a.m., on Sunday Nov 7, 2021, from the Oberlin Depot, 240 South Main St., Oberlin, Ohio. Check in and registration begin at 8:30 a.m. at Oberlin Depot. Parking is limited at registration area, but there is ample parking in the lot in front of the Auto Zone /CVS Pharmacy on Main Street.
Registration
Advanced registration ($20.00) will be accepted until 6 p.m. on Oct 29, 2021. Late registration, after October 29, and the day of the ride is $25.00. Registration fee includes map, and two snack stops on the Century, one snack stop on the half metric. Snacks will be served at the finish. Riders may register at the door on the day of event.
The Route
The full metric century route will take riders through Mill Hollow for the first snack stop. From there, riders head west toward Milan for a second food stop. Riders then return to Oberlin via a scenic route along country roads. The half-century route takes riders to Mill Hollow for a food stop, and then returns them to Oberlin via Birmingham.
Both rides are fully supported with a SAG for repairs and , if necessary, a ride back to the finish.
