Trial By Fire ALL AGES Trial By Fire Trial By Fire (Dave Katz, Joe Marcinek, Tony Kazel, & Nick Shaver) perform at the Beachland Ballroom. Each Ticket = Intimate table for two (2), four (4), or six (6) in our renovated Ballroom! Very limited number of tables will be available for these shows. Entry times will be staggered to comply with COVID-19 guidelines. Details on entry times and admission will follow via email closer to the event. Trial by Fire is a collection of musicians with deep roots in the jam band community. Dave Katz (keyboards, vocals) is best known as a founding member and principal songwriter of ekoostik hookah, and has been contributing to the scene since 1991. Joe Marcinek (guitar, vocals) is known for putting together eclectic combinations of musicians for iconic jam sessions known as The Joe Marcinek Band. Tony Kazel (drums) is an original member of Yosemight, and a current member of Oregon Space Trail of Doom. Tony brings a jazz background and crazy rhythmic energy to the stage every night. Nick Shaver (bass) is an original member of Yosemight, and a current member of Grello. Nick is a master of groove and pocket, always holding everything together. The quartet plays a mix of Katz’ and Marcinek’s originals, along with a selection of covers ranging from The Grateful Dead and Phish, to The James Gang, to James Taylor.
